New Passages by the ESINC

Today at the press conference, Yulia Ber, the ESINC chief financial officer, said that the ESINC opened 2011 navigation season without delay on the Angara river early in May; on Bratsk reservoir storage, on May, 22nd. Baikal navigation season will be open on May, 28th. She also noted that the company management made a decision not to force up the fares. The fares will be the same as in 2010.

Launching of electronic ticketing on the site www.vsrp.ru since June, 1st is one more welcome news for the passengers. It takes you only to come with a printed ticket or passport half an hour before departure time. Registration on the site enables you not only to buy tickets fromt home but also to quickly get information about all the promoactions held in the ESINC.

Andrey Shaturin, the ESINC deputy chief executive officer of passenger fleet, told us about the passages to be launched in 2011 navigation. This way, a new passage to Chivirkuisky bay will go on continuing basis. The route is formed in such a way that the passengers could see the most interesting bays and gulfs of the lake including Peschannaya Bay (Sandy Bay), Zagli Bay, Olkhon Island, Ushkany Islands.

The ticket for the passage from Irkutsk to Chivirkuisky bay costs 4500 rubles one way; 8000 rubles, there and back.

A new touristic passage, a one-day boat tour along the Circum Baikal Railway, is started up by the ESINC. You set off from Irkutsk at 11.00 a.m. and come back at 6.30 p.m. The tour costs 1200 rubles. The tour will be supported by a new motor ship to be launched after the full reconstruction. The motor ship fit out with comfortable reclining chairs loads 100 passengers. It has a café on the second storey.
